I took part in a digital design course at the university where we had to use Mentor Graphics® HDL Designer™ for exercises. After a long hassle we students were able to install the software to our personal computers. I probably can’t say anything about HDL Designer because of the EULA/NDA, but maybe it’s better for Mentor’s sake
The course exam was held this week so now it’s time to nuke the software; something that I’ve waited from the day I installed it. It’s great that I don’t have to use it on any remaining courses. Hopefully I don’t have to touch it never again, not even with a gross-feet pole! I really hope it will uninstall nicely through Add or Remove Programs so that I don’t have to nuke the whole Windows installation while I’m at it.
edit: Breaking News!
The only thing the Mentor’s god damn custom Uninstaller was able to remove was it self. Now my machine has a pile of steaming uninstallable crap! perkele!!
