Christmas is Coming (again..)
Don’t forget my wishlist
I’m more than happy to accept second hand books, too. I’m particularly very fond of these two book dealers: AbeBooks and Better World Books. AbeBooks has a nice selection of used and new books which I’m having hard time to find elsewhere with a reasonable price. Better World Books always manages to get a smile on my face with their great attitude.
Ryzom MMORPG for GNU/Linux
Ryzom is an MMORPG which was opensourced few months ago. Now the game has an official Linux client. The porting work has mostly been done by volunteers from GNU/Linux community and now Winch Gate Properties embraces the new community with a competition around the official release of Ryzom Linux client. There’s free registration for 21 day trial, which is plenty to complete the competition, and the monthly fees aren’t that bad if you want to continue with the official servers after the trial.
The Humble Indie Bundle #2
Check out The Humble Indie Bundle #2!
The bundle contains 5 indie games, has no DRM and you may pay what you want.
I usually don’t want to promote anything proprietary, but I want to make an exception with this bundle. I strongly favor this kind of marketing strategy.
The first bundle was a success which also led to opensourcing Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, and Penumbra Overture.

USB_ModeSwitch and Ubuntu 10.04
In contrariety what I wrote in the past Ubuntu 9.10 didn’t ship with usb_modeswitch after all. I don’t know why it was not included, but anyway Timo Jyrinki is now trying to stir up some discussion to get usb_modeswitch included in Ubuntu 10.04.
I also wanted to give him a hand, so I wrote to USB_ModeSwitch forums hoping that something could come out of this. I only wish I had time to work on this my self, but as always, I don’t.
